Woke up to Celtics injury updates (thread)

1. Kemba Walker (stem cell injection in his left knee) was put on a “12-week strengthening program” and will be out until at least early January.
2. Romeo Langford (Sept. 22 wrist surgery) will be out 4-5 months from that date. So a late January or February return is expected.
3. Tristan Thompson (hamstring strain) will be limited during the first week of training camp.
So the Celtics will be VERY thin on the perimeter early in the season. If Jeff Teague starts for Kemba Walker on opening night, the perimeter bench options will be Semi Ojeleye and a bunch of guys who have never played consistent minutes (or any minutes) in the NBA.
The Celtics could also start Grant Williams or something. That could make the most sense. Grant, Marcus Smart, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and either Thompson or Theis would be awesome defensively and should score enough buckets. Then the bench would at least still have Teague.
