I also think it's dope that Kylo fails in kill his lightside master and then one movie later, he figures out he also failed in killing his darkside master, that the past he tried to kill is not dead.
Remember the Jedi texts Rey got? Well, guess what? They are useful to not only give her knowledge about Jedi stuff, but to the film's plot. They would never start the mission without an object presented in the last film, so...
Like, sure, there are some things that were not followed up, Rose for example and honestly it's a shame we didn't get more of her, however, there are a lot of connections between them.
