Genuine question, if I buy myself a house, and then after that I get married and my spouse lives with me, should i charge her rent? (Assuming she works too). Because if we both rented a place, I'd expect her to pay half the rent too.

Adding two more question in this since there's a big debate going on down there.

1) Would you guys be okay if the wife co-owns the place and pay half the mortgage? Or is the idea of women paying in general is the fact most of you are unhappy about?

2) If the roles were reversed where the woman owns the house and we move in to her house now. Does the responsibility to pay for her mortgage now fall onto the men now?
