The Chinese government blocked the vaccine samples from being delivered as agreed with CanSino. Any guesses as to why? Does the name Meng Wanzhou give you an idea? They have said they will release our Michaels in return for Meng. The vaccine block was just another ploy.

At that point, there was no other choice but to turn to other manufacturers who wouldn't be blocked from procuring what they needed to produce and test the vaccines. China made it political by blocking the shipments of the vaccine for clinical trials at Dalhousie. #cdnpoli

And for clarity's sake, the PM put all his eggs in the basket of the National Research Council, not China. Why the hell should he not use the tools at his disposal? We have the NRC as a government department for a reason. They're the ones who partnered with CanSino. #cdnpolli

And contrary to popular belief, the government departments are not run by the PM personally and he's not briefed on every single decision. Why do you think they hire experts to make these decisions? They have the background and the knowledge to do what's needed. #cdnpoli

This is the NRC Covid-19 Task Force. Tell me you'd question them if they said they had been working on a vaccine and that they were waiting on shipments to begin clinical trials. I'm sure the PM felt we were in good hands with them. #cdnpoli

As soon as it was apparent the CanSino deal was being blocked by the Chinese government, other sources were found and contracts were signed quickly for millions of doses of the vaccine. That is why we are at the front of the line now and not the back as O'Toole says. #cdnpoli

I am so sick and tired of the Conservatives acting like the Liberal government is continually failing Canadians when nothing could be further from the truth. They have all been working extremely hard to make sure that we all survive. Has it been perfect? No? #cdnpoli

But when I think of where we could be if we had a Conservative leading our country since the election in October 2019. I can tell you that our country would be even more divided and in way worse shape because of it. #cdnpoli

Think about all that has happened since that election and what the Conservative position was on most of those issues. They wanted to forcibly remove the blockades. They destroyed a charity and gloated about it. They wanted to force an election during a pandemic. #cdnpoli

If you think the Conservatives care one iota about you or your own interests, I have a bridge to sell you. They have proven that they don't care about veterans, Indigenous and treaty rights, or whether we live or die based on their behaviour during this pandemic. #cdnpoli

You know what they do care about? Owning the PM so they can call an election and try to take power when the country is at one of its weakest points because of the pandemic. They also care about keeping themselves and their friends rich and comfortable. #cdnpoli

All you have to do is look at the provincial response in MB, AB, and ON to get a sense of how the Conservatives would have handled this had they been the leading party in our government. O'Toole is gaslighting Canadians at every turn. PLEASE open your eyes. Rant over. #cdnpoli
