Puberty blockers (mostly Lupron, but all are chemically & mechanicistically very similar) - a mini review:
1*) post PBs, long-term spatial memory & emotional maturation affected (Hough et al. 2017; Hough et al. 2019)
2) IQ drops during suppression (Mul, 2001)
3) a case study - 1/
myelination & cognitive functions are negatively affected (Schneider et al. 2017)
4) possible sexual dysfunction & infertility (Biggs, 2019)
5) even Olson-Kennedy reports pelvic pain, irritability, emotional instability, depression &menopause-like symptoms IN CHILDREN (Gender 2/
Odyssey, 2017).
GnRH II - responsible for sexual maturation (Barnett et al. 2006). PBs directly interfere with GnRH II.
Sex hormones are necessary for proper brain maturation, especially emotional stability & impulsive behavior control (Johnson et al. 2009; Vigil et al. 2016). 3/
6*) Fear & stress responses are persistently affected (Robinson et al. 2014)
7*) Gene expression in hippocampus - spatial coordination, self-awareness, spatial memory - is changed after suppression (Nuruddin et al. 2013).
PBs interfere with the limbic 4/
system, which is responsible, in simplistic terms, for executive decision making, information integration & internal sense of self (integration of internal impulses, fear control, etc.)
8) girls treated with Lupron for precocious puberty report drastic bone density loss 5/
in their 20s, YEARS after the end of treatment.
9) FDA reports 10,000 side effects of Lupron, including seizures, depression & anxiety.

There is no evidence of long-term mental & psychosocial benefits of PBs even 25 years after the Dutch protocol (Biggs, 2020).+
There is a lack of robust studies on long-term effects of PBs (Vrouenraets et al. 2015).
All existing studies with PBs in children are seriously methodologically flawed (Heneghan & Jefferson, 2019).
Due to aggressive campaigning by trans activists, the risks of PBs are +
misrepresented or minimized. Ireland & England recently changed their guidelines re: PBs. We simply don't know enough BUT what we do know is sufficient to continue with extreme caution, at the very least. PBs are not a "pause" button on puberty. They do not give GD kids more +
time to think or even alleviate gender dysphoria (Carmichael et al. report more internalization of body issues 1 year after PBs). They effectively interfere with their emotional & cognitive maturation, prevent them from growing into their own bodies & eliminate any chance of +
