Ironically, if anyone had read the book properly, then one would have came to conclusion that Masjid's fall and RJM's success was possible despite PV Narasimha Rao & not due to him
The following screenshots comprise the entire chapter of the Book on Babri Masjid demolition.

According to PVNR's personal doctor,on demolition day(6th Dec 1992), Rao's health showed certain signs:
1)Rising BP
2)Face glowing red
3)High pulse rate
4)Agitated face
This shows that he was hardly happy or satisfied about it but rather he was irritated over Masjid's fall 2/n

Rao had valid reasons to be agitated since it not only showed his failure to protect Mosque but also demolished his double game of protecting INC's base.
Like Rajiv Gandhi, his moves were solely motivated to ensure political survival by appeasing Hindu-Muslim sentiments. 3/n

Left to him, Ram Mandir would have anyway still constructed albeit with an intact Babri Masjid as its neighbour. That was his solution to RJM as per his book on Ayodhya matter
That was necessary to protect both his govt & Congress' votebank but hardly useful for Hindu cause. 4/n

The flaw in Rao's solution from Hindu viewpoint was simple- RJM was not just making a Ram Mandir in Ayodhya but also about removing scar on Hindu psyche through Mosque's demolition.
Babri's construction during Mughal era itself symbolised Islamic supremacy in Hindu India. 5/n

As long as the Mosque survived, it would have always reminded Hindus about their subordinate status & failure to revive their faith in so called Homeland.
If Temple's construction was only goal of RJM, then it would have formed anywhere in Ayodhya long time ago. 6/n

However, that was not the case and for better or worse, the Masjid had to fall for ensuring revival of Hindutva while formation of Ram Mandir would have started its consolidation in India.
For that reason, Rao's plan would merely end up weakening Hindutva & saved Congress. 7/n

In 1991-92, UP was governed by BJP with Kalyan Singh as CM
Since Rao distrusted Singh wrt protecting Babri, he had started plans to save it through potential President's rule(He even calcuated number of troops required for protection) and negotiations with BJP/VHP leaders. 8/n

Since imposing President rule merely on grounds of potential demolition was hardly a legally valid ground so to save himself legally, Rao tried to muster support for his case from his Cabinet, opposition, Intelligence Bureau & even Supreme Court for but failed miserably. 9/n
Now,one could say that Rao could have still imposed President rule in UP with help of partisan Governor but there lies a major twist in the saga
During early 90s,the then UP Governor was B Satya Narayan Reddy, a socialist leader who as appointed as Governor by VP Singh Govt 10/n

Mr Reddy was known for his independent views and cannot be fully relied to do bidding of Rao's govt. Moreover, he had ruled out imposing President Rule through his report which was given 5 days before the eventual demolition of the Mosque. 11/n
In fact, Rao couldn't even remove Mr Reddy from UP Governor post since he himself had bad relationship with then Indian President, Mr Shankar Dayal Sharma.
Since he was legally checkmated & imposing President rule in UP would have toppled his govt, he decided not to do so. 12/n

Knowing the fact that he couldn't impose President Rule w/o breaking law/his govt, Rao tried his best to save Mosque through secret talks with Sangh Parivaar.
Since the content of those talks is classified, one would never knew whether Rao really cared for RJM or not. 13/n

As per the book, Rao tried to get written assurance from BJP-VHP for ensuring Babri's survival but merely got verbal assurance and no concrete proof for the same.
This shows that BJP leaders played their cards well to ensure RJM's success than Rao's concern for Hindus. 14/n

In fact, Kalyan Singh even gave written orders not to shoot Karsevaks(Unlike Mullayam Singh Yadav) on 6th Dec,1992 which led to eventual demolition.
Post demolition, Rao tried to reconstruct Babri but failed since then Defence Minister Sharad Pawar warned him not to do it. 15/n
Post demolition, Rao tried to reconstruct Babri but failed since then Defence Minister Sharad Pawar warned him not to do it. 15/n
Pawar had warned Rao about non-reconstruction, not because he cared for RJM but rather he was afraid of worsening law & order situation on one hand & future rise of BJP on other hand.
Thus, Rao failed to save the Mosque, his party & his reputation despite his double game. 16/n

If after knowing contrary evidences, one could contend that why Rao is blamed for Demolition when he was neither supporter nor an accomplice in Babri
The answer lies in self serving propanganda by Gandhis-led INC who wanted Muslim votes & tarnish Rao's image simultaneously 17/n

The only thing which tried to link Rao with BJP in Babri case is the 2014 Cobrapost interview with some low profile BJP leaders
However, those Leaders had neither contacted PVNR nor Cobrapost gave additional evidence of their claims which raises doubts on Rao's role in RJM. 18/n

Finally, the fact Liberhan Committee exonerated Rao but made BJP-VHP leaders liable clearly prove that Rao was more of a failed spoiler in entire Babri case
In fact, one should rather credit Kalyan Singh who not only played legal cards but also sacrified his govt for Babri. 19/n

At the end of chapter, the book's author himself chides Rao for not preventing Babri's fall by President Rule even if meant clear violation of the Constitution.
This is akin to saying that Centre should dismiss Yogi Govt in advance to protect Mosques in Mathura & Varanasi. 20/n

Lastly, in his Ayodhya book, Rao clearly stated that the demolishers of Babri Masjid wanted to ensure his downfall which clearly means that far from a Hero,he was actually a spoiler who might have succeeded but for unfavorable circumstances
Thus,RJM happened despite PVNR.
