Bodies of water

Tis the season to be jolly... Stressed about our bodies? Yes, it's that time of year again for my annual rant about conflicting pressures at this time of year. And this time I'm joined by gorgeous supportive friends!
Many people in many different ways spend all year at war with their bodies and the festive period in the midst of a pandemic poses all manner of challenges.
Whilst encouraged to feast on fine foods we're also expected to look our best, fit in that dress, slide into those trousers, be happy, spread cheer, decorate the house, decorate yourself, play parent and Santa, manage unrealistic expectations, spread some more cheer....
... and then prepare for the "fight the Christmas bulge" bombardment once Christmas day is over. I, for one, am doing my best to give my mind and body a break from that pressure. I'm doing my best to encourage others to do the same.
I'm doing my best to embrace the parts of me that grow, that wobble, wiggle and roll more at this time of year. I'm doing my best to not feel the guilt we're programmed to feel when we have that extra biscuit or cake or festive treat.
Let's face it. None of the amazing things about who you are depend on whether your waistband fluctuates a bit at this time of year or any other. Radical act of self-love for Christmas? Let's do this 🙌🏻🎄
