Saw some take on facebook that said 'autistic people don't need affection and don't care who their parents are' and guys.

This is so intensely harmful.

Thread.
If anything, autistic people need MORE affection than neurotypical children. What that LOOKS like, however, may be very different from what a neurotypical parent recognizes as affection.
Ironically, this is where nts greatly struggle with empathy. We are different from what they expect - suddenly understanding our needs is hard.

Even more ironic, perhaps, is how much of their so-called empathy is actually rule-based behavior - the very thing they accuse us of.
Another point of irony is their conviction that we are cold hearted frogs with no need for love, yet they are the ones who put their kids in their own rooms when they are literal babies, and they are the ones who came up with the cry-it-out method.
Show me a parent who spanks their kids. 9 out of 10 times they'll be NT. 'Toughens them up' they say. 'I got spanked and I turned out ok', they say.

Nts are some of the most callous people out there.

Which is also why they miss the subtle signs of love in autistic children.
Like - how dare you.

How fucking DARE you suggest we have no feelings. WE are not the ones letting this world bleed dry. WE are not the rulers of this world - a world where people die in the streets and starve while others have more money than they could ever use.
You created that world.

Meanwhile we spend our whole lives trying to understand you. Trying to understand what is so terribly wrong about us that you villify us so.

But we are not the problem. You are.

You are the callous ones.

Not us.
And yeah I'm generalizing and I don't care right now.

I'm sick of being painted as some emotionless monster or robot while neurotypicals are literally setting this world on fire.

Sick. Of. It.
