Last night I went to see @SydneyTheatreCo's The Picture Of Dorian Grey. Am still registering what I aww on stage over two hours with no interval. Eryn Jean Norvill plays EVERY character. She is Dorian. She is Basil Hallward AND Lord Henry Wotton. 1/5
She is Sibyl Vane and her vengeful brother. She is onstage for two hours accompanied by four moving cameras projecting images on to multiple screens. Which also move. She changes costume. She attends dinner parties with seven versions of herself. 2/5
There's a CHASE scene, for God's sake. I have never seen anything like it in my life. Marg Horwell's set design is spectacular. Kip Williams' adaptation is perfectly Wildean. Honestly, if you can see it, you'll never forget it. 3/5
Whatever headlines you've read about Eryn Jane Norvill in the past, this performance explodes into a million pieces. Notwithstanding the shocking treatment to which this actor has been subjected in the public square, 4/5
it is no small comfort, in this crappy year of 2020, that she has found the capacity to respond with an absolutely blistering display of professional and technical power.

Eryn Jane Norvill, you are extraordinary. 5/5
By the way, I've never seen a faster standing ovation in my life.
