A friend of a friend hired me to help them as they build out their social presence for their new company.

Here's a breakdown of what I'm doing for them, their goals, estimated time commitment, and how much I'm charging.

🧵
Their ultimate goal is brand awareness.

Their company will eventually make money on consulting but for the next 6-8 months, they want to use social media to tell the story of why they exist, educate others about their niche industry, and build a following over time.
Here's what I'm building/working on:

- Custom Social Strategy
- Content Strategy (w/ 3 weeks of content)
- Social Media Guidelines
- Social Tools to use
- (3) 1v1 Training Sessions
- Market Research
- Channel-by-channel strategy
Since I've done this so many times, I estimate it will take me somewhere between 15-22 hours to complete, plus the training sessions.

The going rate for this kind of work + my background in social is somewhere between $45-$65/hr.
I quoted them $1,100 to do everything. I'll also host a 1hr session w/ their entire team, to educate them on the importance of having social presences as company leaders.

Since they're a friend of a friend & I can knock this out in the next 2 weekends, I'm doing it for $850
Today, I'm doing market research and then building out the social media & content strategy.

Next weekend, I will start working on creating the content and then train their marketing coordinator on the channel-by-channel strategy, plus, how everything ladders up to their goals.
My goal for this freelance type of work is to help startups and small businesses with social & marketing strategy.

Less of a focus on $$ and more of a focus on companies (since I have a full-time job already).
