With our dashboard update today we are hitting another unfortunate milestone of 86 new cases. This will be our highest daily increase that we have reported since the beginning of the pandemic. 1/5
This is serious reminder to all Waterloo Region residents that COVID-19 should be considered to be widely circulating in our community and anyone is at risk of contracting it or spreading it to others. 2/5
We con’t to see an increase of outbreaks in workplaces and remind everyone to follow PH practices (physical distancing, hand washing, masking, staying home when sick) including in spaces that are employee-only like lunch/break rooms where we most often see spread. 3/5
We are asking residents to only go out for essential purposes and to limit social interactions to only those within your own households.
If not for yourself, to protect the most vulnerable members of the community and to also prevent the strain on our healthcare system from further escalating.
