This post misleads. ES&S took over some (I suspect most) of Diebold’s county contracts, which = control. Dominion just acquired IT rights. ES&S, 4 instance, built Georgia’s ballots during the midterms when GA still used Diebold machines. ES&S = Diebold. 1/ https://twitter.com/jpmediaboss/status/1332746947543724032
ES&S built the ballots for Georgia during the midterms bc ES&S (not Dominion) kept Diebold’s servicing and maintenance contract. 2/ https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/aug/01/the-selling-of-an-election-dangerous-level-of-private-control-revealed-in-2018-georgia-midterms
ES&S also kept the servicing and maintenance contract for Diebold equipment in Shelby County, TN, which still uses Diebold machines. ES&S and Diebold are considered one and the same in these jurisdictions. 3/ https://www.memphisflyer.com/JacksonBaker/archives/2020/04/22/election-commission-attorney-shares-office-with-voting-machine-lobbyist
It was on ES&S’s watch that Diebold machines lost 127k black votes in Georgia. 4/ https://www.theroot.com/exclusive-thousands-of-black-votes-in-georgia-disappea-1832472558
It was on ES&S’s watch that Diebold machines lost black votes in Shelby County, TN in 2015, as I discuss here. 5/ https://www.nybooks.com/daily/2020/10/31/how-safe-is-the-us-election-from-hacking/
I’m no fan of Dominion. But the GOP strategy seems to be to put Dominion alone out of business so that ES&S can control 70% of the market again. That strategy is about control & power, not integrity. And it’s scary & dangerous. 6/
