Here is the thing. Hitting is the most difficult thing to do in any sport. The culture and environment of social media allows platforms to those who want to "pass on knowledge". That's what the game is supposed to be... Give back to the game that gave you. ....
However, when ideologies are put on social media by anyone, scrutiny is the given. Understanding that many of those here have tons of experience on the playing side and coaching side at the highest levels. On the other hand there those that have experience that don't go past...
...college or HS. When it come to knowledge based information, that's where the issue comes into play here. Both sides of the old school and new school, experienced and inexperienced clash and disrupt what can potentially be a meaningful conversation and discussion...
People are going to believe and adhere to what they want. But to attempt to justify a one way approach is not ideally smart. It's egotistically wrong. No one from either side has this game figured out. Right now, the game doesn't need this infighting that is going on..
Without understanding the why's and because doesn't justify the how's and do's. Giving the statement that "hitters day they do this but in the game they actually do this" is completely missing context and the point from those of us that gave experience at the highest levels..
And understand its meaning. Saying to a MLB hitter, they don't really do it that way, my question is to those of you who stick to this, Have you asked them? Have you had a conversation with that hitter to find out the whys, the because, the how's and do's of what he is doing?
Then in turn, the highly experienced players should ask the ones who don't have the playing experience to please explain the vernacular of their premise and belief. Having adult conversations is the key to all this.. NOW!!! Here is the caveat.. conversations can be had...
But when it comes to someone going on here and insulting and discrediting and disrespecting players who made it farther that most of us on here is downright stupid. It's like a young IT grad, saying Steve Jobs and Bill Gates don't know anything about computers...
If people want respect for what they teach, then be prepared to get asked rough ass questions. If you get butt hurt by what people are saying abt your ideology, then unfortunately grow thick skin. If you truly believe what you are doing will help young hitters...
Threatening and insulting and disrespecting those that played, looks like shit. Not a good look.
