Conservatives are predictable. They are NOT creative or innovative.
Notice how David Staples uses a recycled argument to lambaste federal Liberals.

This is the exact same rhetoric used to denigrate the poor for not being able to climb out of poverty.

And, consequently, similar rationale why that is an impossible to fulfill expectation and unreasonable.

In other words, it’s nonsensical.

Mulroney sold off assets to domestic and foreign interests. So did Harper.

Canada cannot just buy them back. They have to be recreated. That costs money. Lots of money. Taxpayers money.

Which cons depleted by lowering taxes and cutting revenues.

It’s the equivalent of asking a family on social assistance why they haven’t invested in purchasing a home.

Um... because more urgent primary needs take precedence. Duh!

If the expectations are unreasonable (other more pressing issues need attention first) then asking the question is fallaciousness at its finest.

But that’s what cons do. Their premises are false, but they present them with the confidence and arrogance of “strongmen.”

Never wavering in their resolve.

Cons know the question is preposterous. But their supporters, being less adept at budgeting for a nation, poorly informed about federal revenues and the sheer number of institutions the last 2 con PMs have removed, lap it up ravenously.

It’s the same process over and over again. Remove the ability to respond adequately to crisis. Then criticize the actors inability to adequately address crisis when it inevitably emerges. Blame those scrambling to adapt to the impossible conditions presented.

It rarely varies. This is part and parcel con strategy.

I for one am sick of it. Frankly, I’m sick of con rhetoric. If I never hear another con try to gaslight Canadians ever again, it would still be too soon. Their lack of logic and reasonability is astounding.

What’s more frustrating are the vast numbers of people who fall for it, hook, line and sinker, every damn time.
