All the dumb takes I’ve read about Sarah Fuller (with rebuttals that you can totally steal!), a thread:

Dumb take: Vanderbilt football is just doing this for publicity.

Rebuttal: Way to prove that the “publicity stunt” working! How smart of Vandy to use an athlete who’s won more rings than their football program in the past few years for positive press!

Dumb take: She better not whine if she gets hit.

Rebuttal: She’s a D1 Power Five athlete with a higher pain tolerance than you and she knows what she’s signing up for. She’ll be fine.

Dumb take: What if she gets tackled after someone fumbles the snap?

Rebuttal: I appreciate your sudden concern for female athletes, but that energy would be better spend donating to women’s sport organizations or, you know, watching women’s sports on the reg.

Dumb take: What if the kick gets blocked and she has to tackle someone?

Rebuttal: Ah yes, because kickers are notoriously good tacklers.

Dumb take: If this were a man playing a women’s game, everybody would be complaining.

Rebuttal: But it’s not!

Dumb take: But she’s taking an opportunity away from a guy!

Rebuttal: Name the guy. Also, there is no women’s equivalent to college football and women’s sports are grossly underfunded in the NCAA compared to men’s sports. Female kicker or not, the boys are going to be fine.

Dumb take: What about the men’s soccer team?

Rebuttal: the college football arms race took care of Vanderbilt men’s soccer years ago, but thanks for at least pretending to care about Olympic sport athletes for a minute there!

Dumb take: kickers aren’t real football players.

Rebuttal: and neither are you! Have fun watching a woman live out your dreams on national television!
