Hate to do one of those patronising 'multiple things can be true at once' threads but:

1. For left MPs to fail to show solidarity with members fighting an injustice is a significant betrayal and they should be called out on that, it is a big red flag on their political judgment
2. The self description of MPs shouldn't be taken at face value - we need to scrutinise their politics to identify who, for example, we'd favour as a potential leadership candidate and who not. This should be done on a consistent basis and in the round.
3. There are some whose politics don't meet that bar that we might want a working relationship with on a lot of issues, seek their nominations in leadership contests etc. We should try to clarify honestly what the disagreements are between us and explain it to others.
4. None of the above precludes anger or strident criticism where merited.
