THREAD: One of the most frustrating things about this Big Ten season is that fans were left voiceless because the press failed to cover the conference’s decisions with the slightest amount of criticism.

They were basically just a PR arm instead of asking the tough questions.

1/
How could the Big Ten justify its myocarditis concern when NBA, MLB, NHL, European professional leagues, high school, and AAU were all playing?

Commissioner Warren — do you honestly believe these leagues and associations didn’t look at that issue?

2/
Why would the Big Ten cancel its season — and not revisit the decision per Kevin Warren — when other conferences delayed to buy more time?

Did they not set a precedent that the Big Ten could follow?

3/
Where are the studies demonstrating that daily antigen testing would prevent outbreaks within sports teams?

And if those studies don’t exist, why did the conference treat it like some sort of game changer?

4/
Why can almost every other league and conference have fans and bands in the stands, but the Big Ten is just parents only?

You’re telling me 70,000+ capacity stadiums can’t socially distance a couple thousand people?

5/
The press — @NicoleAuerbach @ByPatForde @PeteThamel @slmandel — never asked these questions.

They just released the conference’s talking points without any skepticism or criticism.

THAT IS THEIR JOB.

6/
And when they don’t do their job, the fans are left without a voice.

We saw how stupid this was back in August. Nobody with a platform stood up. It took parents from several teams to get half a season.

Now we’re stuck with this.

I’m just so disgusted.
