This seems precisely the kind of use of VAR people were concerned about.
It's one of those where it only looks a foul when you slow it down. That shouldn't really be the threshold - as they're saying on BT now.
For me, Welbeck doesn't have control of that ball. Robertson is within his rights to clear it. There's just some minimal contact, as will happen in a contact fluid sport. I don't see it in any way as a "kick". You might - but even this debate indicates "not clear and obvious".
In saying all that, you could argue VAR *is* "evening out" given Liverpool have benefitted from a few etc etc - but we are getting into the cost/benefit debate with the system.
