One thing I strongly agree with the Left on is the idea that structural inequality has failed to be held responsible for its murderous consequences. Where I differ is believing that much of that inequality and death are deliberately caused by white-collar Leftism. https://twitter.com/BLCKD_COM_PILLD/status/1292122082839531522
Trade policies, immigration policies, NGOs colonizing the world, Conde Nast sexual revolution propaganda and pharmaceutical mass-druggings: so much of this leads to death and murder, yet no one is interested in how several of these things led to the murder-by-opiates crisis
When you see a woman who would like to be home with her grandchildren in the Philippines come to America to work under the table as an indentured servant for an Acela Corridor while NGO/free-tradeism destroy her previous communities, you wonder.
When you see people drowning in debt b/c their overlords told them manufacturing was dead so they needed to get degrees in the info industry then training their H1-B replacements while they prepare to become Amazon warehouse workers, you wonder.
When you see people working in the coastal pyramids shaking their heads at the ignorance of Red America not embracing the TPP while shoveling opioids at Red America's kids, you wonder.
I've listened to people protected by middle-management jobs in the Rust Belt openly talk about how they wish they could replace all their neighbors, who were -not- able to transition into cushy admin jobs when the mills closed, with Purer Immigrants. Amazing compassion.
Forgive me, but Compassionate Leftism is a self-serving lie, perhaps the most vicious I know, b/c it relies upon demonizing an Other who deserves to be dispossessed as they can afford to insulate themselves from the consequences of their beliefs but still demand to feel Righteous
