I think this sums up what some consultants feel 2-1 working with anaesthesia associates would be like. The reality is often very different! @AoAA_uk
Often the reality is for the consultants:
This leads to increased theatre productivity and efficiency using a team approach.
With a massive anaesthesia workforce issues due, anaesthesia associates could offer part of the of the solution to an over stretched workforce
With the now the regulation by the @gmcuk expected within 12 months all anaesthetic departments could benefit and use anaesthesia associates effectively.
The problems currently are prescribing, (which is being worked)on , funding for training posts, and the misinterpretation of scope of practice (which is only for “upon qualifying”) and the fear of something different
Investment now in the anaesthesia workforce would reap massive rewards for the #nhs
Things such to regulation, prescribing and scope of prescribe are ALL currently being worked on by the @AoAA_uk
