I tested positive for COVID. I'm doing well & actually relieved. Thought I'd share my symptoms because they were so atypical that I delayed getting a test for 8 days after their onset.
I got what felt like a typical cold, no coughing, no shortness of breath, stuffy nose.

I also had a slight fever and muscle ache. After 4 days, I lost the sense of smell, but thought that it was due to the stuffy nose. Then I started gradually losing the sense of taste. I thought that it was due to the loss of sense of smell.
After my sense of taste became very muted, I started sensing "weird" in my skin. Bodily sensations (hunger, thirst, pain, cold/hot) feel muted. I have trouble focusing. My short-term memory is even shittier than usual. On the plus side, my insomnia & anxiety are gone.
Only when those neurological symptoms became pronounced I decided to get a PCR test. Only last night, after finding this paper I started considering the possibility that I have COVID https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/acn3.51210
The PCR test cost me nothing, line at the hospital in Istanbul where I live was short & I got the results in 24 hours. Medicine will be brought to my house by the local authorities.
