I don't think a lot of ppl realize the sheer amount of time it takes to get even a single frame of animation out, from scriptwriting to storyboarding to key animation to in-betweens to coloring compositing to voice acting to bgm and sfx to quality checking.... it's no joke at all
so for tgcf donghua to have literally not even a SINGLE awkward looking in-between frame (and i know this bc i literally take 3 hours just watching every episode almost entirely frame-by-frame) is literally blowing my mind. the amount of love and care they put into it is INSANE
I'm not an animator myself but half my family is. my siblings and i had to be raised mostly by relatives bc our parents were busy drawing drawing drawing day in and out. when my bro started animator training i was the one who had to login to his games bc he had no time anymore
it's such an exploitative and demanding industry and everyone knows this. the output and deadline demands means I barely saw my parents for like 80% of my childhood, all for pay that was so disproportionate to the time and effort they've put in
I feel like a lot of the ppl who are in it either don't have a lot of other options or are just really passionate about what they do. I suppose there IS a lot of payoff when you finally see your hard work on screen, esp if the project is something you love
but imagine you made a small error among the many many hours you've put into your work, and it gets through the checks and ppl start harping on it? that shit would blow so much. one second they could be praising a part u worked on while bashing on another part the next
the point is, have a bit more compassion and understanding i guess. esp when u don't know how many people put in how many sheer hours of work just for two collective seconds of relatively inconsequential human oversight that won't even affect how stunning the whole thing still is
there are lots of places i expected donghua team to forgivably slack a bit on but they didnt, they're still running at full power 6 eps in. i'm not saying they're above criticism, there's always room for improvement, just pls do keep some things in mind abt the animation industry
