That's how superhero comics work. You don't NEED to consume everything ever.

It's a huge misconception that you need to understand decades worth of lore to enjoy comic books and that scares off potential new readers.

Even if you were a long time fan, memory fades with time and any good writer will explain whatever the reader needs to know.

Comics are a fantastic medium and you're missing out on some fantastic stories by overlooking them.
