FOR NIGERIAN STUDENTS AFFECTED BY ASUU STRIKE ONLY.
I'm a Law Student, I want you to know that you can legally, say NO to paying the rent accumulated during this ASUU strike, and secondly not to be evicted even as your rent has expired.
#SaturdayThoughts #SaturdayMotivation
How?
1) THE RENT ABATEMENT/SUSPENSION CLAUSE: : this enables you to pause your rent in times like ASUU strike, or pandemic, meaning the rent can only count when school resumes(but has to be signed in the tenancy agreement).
2)Even as Your rent has expired you must be given quit to notice, and this depends on your period of tenancy :

*A year(or above) tenancy requires at least 6 months
* one month requires minimum of one month notice
*one week tenancy requires minimum of one week
See section 36 of Lagos Tenancy Law for quit to notice to eviction
