The PA trial court decision is huge because it:
1. Stops the certification of the state results
2. Puts on record that the government officials violated PA state law
3. They violated this law by extending the mail in ballot deadlines, with no legislative permission to do so
1. Stops the certification of the state results
2. Puts on record that the government officials violated PA state law
3. They violated this law by extending the mail in ballot deadlines, with no legislative permission to do so
4. This most likely invalidates all the mail in ballots that were sent in after the time originally set by the PA legislature
5. This is also is the next step on the way to the SCOTUS
6. It also could give power to the PA legislature to pick electors because the election would be considered “Void” due to the extending of the mail-in ballot deadline, which is unconstitutional

In short, the governor, election officials, and other top governmental actors changed the rules in regards to the election, without PA legislative approval. This is what makes it unconstitutional. The state legislature is in charge of elections. No one else.
Lastly, there is a 14th Amendment, Equal Protection Clause argument to be made here. This argument could and should be used for many different states. Here’s a thread explaining that angle https://twitter.com/marepublican18/status/1330714962919100423
