In any case, I tried to explain that bills pave the way for Agro capitalists to do what Uber & Ola did to cab drivers. Initially it was great for drivers who raked in incentives and consumers who got availability, but over time when monopolies... 2/6
... got strong both consumers and drivers got screwed. If, in the process, public transportation had also got screwed because of great cab availability in the interim, then you would get the situation that these farm bills will lead to. They will screw the farmers...3/6
...with low bargaining power, pave way for big monopolies, and screw food security in the process. The existing infrastructure of APMCs will be ruined leading to devastation for smaller farmers with no bargaining power, MSPs will no longer exist giving...4/6
... into the hands of monopolies and government procurement will cease depriving food security for vulnerable sections. On top of it the way the bills have been drafted & passed dilutes the federal structure where agriculture is in the state list. So not just farmers are...5/6

Not sure whether he will ever be convinced that Modi represents crony capitalists among other things. But,I can be happy that I tried & here he felt that farmers may be justified. Phew.Some progress 6/6
