let's talk about some settings/homes in romance novels that we loved! here are some off the top of my head
in Erin McClellan's BOTTLE ROCKET, one protagonist lives in a little bungalow and the other lives in an Airstream trailer he's been using to travel all over the country
in Kate Clayborn's BEGINNER'S LUCK, one protagonist just bought a house and is working on fixing it up and there are such beautiful scenes about finding salvaged door knobs and hinges to go with the the era of the house
and I can't talk about houses in romance without mentioning Ruby Lang's whole Uptown series but especially the first book PLAYING HOUSE because it stars two architecture nerds doing house tours together and it has such gorgeous details
also (how did I not mention this right away, it's right there in the title!) TJ Klune's THE HOUSE IN THE CERULEAN SEA has a fantastic house in it
thinking about a scene in Beverly Jenkins's MIDNIGHT where the female MC is offered a choice of rooms in the male MC's house and she has been living in such a tiny, ill-furnished space that she can't imagine taking the biggest, best room for herself but he insists

oh is it time for me to recommend Aliette de Bodard's IN THE VANISHERS' PALACE again? or Aster Glenn Gray's BRIARLEY? I think it is https://twitter.com/gochenourabout/status/1332528778929725441?s=20
one of the BEST iterations of "the house represents FEELINGS" is Nalini Singh's HEART OF OBSIDIAN, where Kaleb lives in a place full of angles & hard surfaces because he's real committed to his idea of himself as a heartless monster & then he lets Sahara rearrange his whole life
