The Magnificent Vaikom Temple

I was born in Mumbai and was brought to Vaikom, where my Father was working as an Assistant Engineer in Kerala State Electricity Board, when I was 90 days old. 2/n
In Kerala, we have a custom called 'Nadaikkiruthal'

The Baby is placed in front of the God just outside Sreekovil. This is as a gratitude to the deity as well as seeking blessing and protection from the Deity throughout the childs life 3/n
My Nadaikkiruthal was in Vaikom Mahadeva Temple.

Maybe why I became an Ardent Shiva Bhakthan (apart from Devi)

I grew up in the magnificently mammoth court yard of Vaikkom Temple till I was 4

Our house was just a Stones throw away from the Temple 4/n
Father, as is his wont, being in Electricity Board, offered a tower light to the Temple

During Vaikkathashtami Days, (unique festival of grandeur) we didnt cook at home and always had food at the Temple partaking in the Sadhya (feast)

Vaikkathappan is Annadana Prabhu too 5/n
Shivan is in Sathwika Roopam in Vaikkom, is known to be in the form of an Old Man and very Benevolent.

During one Vaikkathashtami my Mother visited the Temple with me at 6.30 pm.

The crowd was unimaginable

She came back and found her precious, expensive Necklace missing 6/n
She started crying. Father rushed to Temple to check

The crowd was in tens of thousands, the Courtyard massive.

Where will he search?

All he could do was to pray hard 7/n
He was still there after an hour, resigned to losing the necklace, when he heard an announcement over the PA system about a lost and found necklace

Father rushed to Temple Office, gave specs of our lost necklace and claimed it. Since he was known, they handed over 8/n
On querying where/how it was found, he was told that the Necklace was handed over by an Old Man, but a stranger, who left immediately on depositing it in the Office

To the day both father and mother died, they believed it was Vaikkathappan himself 🙏🏼 9/n
We moved on when I was 4, and I visited the temple a few times afterI grew up

But 'Vaikkathappan' was and still is part of my Prayers since my childhood 10/n
Vaikkathappan is also a Physician to his Bhakthars. He is known to have cured many diseases

For the past 6 months, I went through some major health issues which were not responding to Treatment 11/n
I am quite Medically Knowledgeable and was getting worried.

Then a 74 year old non practising Doctor came into my life out of nowhere. Last week when my health took a turn for the worse, I called him to have a chat 12/n
He swung into action, took control of my case, guided me precisely, did the Analytics, discussed with his International network of Doctors, Isolated the Root cause and Prescribed the right Medicines 13/n
I am extremely grateful to him

@GunduHuDuGa tweeted the other day God Manifests in Human Form to help us

It is true

I feel it was Vaikkathappan who protected me in the form of the Wise Doctor.🙏🏼

The 'Nadaikkiruthal' in 1964 ensured Vaikkathappan continues to protect me n/n
