Hi! I think it's time we talk about sex work advocacy and how it relates to people in our community being accused of violations of consent https://twitter.com/blackhart___/status/1332331685485154304
I'm using the above tweet as an example but I could use any. Let's start with the basics: anyone can be a victim and anyone can be a perpetrator. Many sex workers are survivors of SA and have certainly suffered from sexual harassment in or out of work. Some are also perpetrators
This tweet above implies a lot of things at once. First, that having nonconsensually viewed sex with a client is somehow worse than with a partner (it's not), second that I'm somehow an outsider to sex work and more inclined to judge than support SWs than this person (not a sw)
And third that somehow the fact that an out sex worker is a sex worker is somehow a smear that absolves her of problematic behavior she admitted to. All of this is to remind you to stay in your lane and stop hurting sex workers by being fake woke
The best you can do is to send money, buy content, advocate against SESTA/ FOSTA, and BELIEVE SURVIVORS
