As might be expected, in anticipation of the holidays, testing ramped up considerably in FL, averaging >145,000 people tested in the past two days (or at least DoH receiving the test results).

Very quick 🧵limited to holiday testing in FL

I expected positivity to ⬇️ b/c a higher % of people would get tested "just in case" prior to holiday travel and/or visiting with family, as opposed to getting tested b/c of symptoms or being around a person who tested +

We saw that dip, but not as much as I expected.

Still, the big ⬆️ in testing, including what is likely more of those "just in case" people who are likely lower risk means that for the past 2 days, the 2-week ⬆️ in testing is higher than the 2-week ⬆️ in cases.

It would be lovely to know all of the characteristics of those tested daily to compare positives and negatives...without those data, unfortunately, this discussion about testing is immensely superficial.
