1st, sorry for the long tweet: In these times of polarization & rampant fear mongering, Twitter, specifically my #HorrorFam #MutantFam are my guiding stars to help me get through the collective depression/anxiety I think we all are dealing with RN. (1)
So to wake up and see that three people I care deeply about are fighting and that low blows were taken on both sides, breaks my fucking heart. Movies are our unifier, and while we might think they are objective, movies are art, therefore subjective. (2)
I try really hard to stay away from loaded words, like hate, when giving my opinion on a movie, bc I know that even if I truly hated it, someone in our Fam loved it. ESP When discussing movies that hold emotional significance. (3)
While we are a Family, everyone is entitled to their own Opinions and this is one of the things that make our community beautiful. So many differing ideas on movies, and justifications for why/why not a movie is important to a person is what we need.
If everyone loved all the same movies, literature, music, and art then what a boring community we be a part of. My wish today, is that we can mend these fences because we are the island of misfit toys and
we fight constantly to show how #HorrorMovies are deserving of a place among the “high brow” drama/comedy movies that are constantly praised. Cannibalism among our own is devastating and so unnecessary.
