OCCULT ICONOGRAPHY

Eckhardt's 1785 "Geheime Figuren der Rosenkreuzer" has 36 coloured plates and claims to be based on an "ancient manuscript", now published for the first time. The enduring influence of these images can be seen in many later texts of the Occult Revival. 1/3
This is the foundation of Rosicrucian visual imagery. Geheime Figuren der Rosenkreuzer, aus dem 16ten und 17ten Jahrhundert [The Secret Symbols of the Rosicrucians from the 16th & 17th Century], was published in 3 volumes at Altona by J.D.A. Eckhardt between 1785 and 1788. 2/3
This set is only very rarely found complete in all three parts. KVK lists only one complete copy in German libraries with all three parts (Hamburg) and 5 other copies with parts I and II, and one other copy in Zurich. 3/3
