2. ED & Acute Medical Unit - these teams work tirelessly and they never stop putting the patient at the centre of their decision-making - join them for a night shift in winter with COVID-19 pressures too
3. Pathology - come and see how efficient, incredible, passionate and resilient these teams are and how invaluable their work is - they could do with a volunteer to make teas and say thank you
4. Swabbing Team - come and see how the team respond quickly and efficiently, their (exhausted) friendly faces a comfort in a time of worry for many, administering swabs stood in the cold for our friends and families
5. Research Team - they are doing groundbreaking work, they have military precision and the whole region is working together relentlessly, they’re bringing us hope
6. Infection Prevention Team - spend 5 minutes in the shoes of the team who have to adapt everyday, who keep staff and patients safe and are knackered with no end in sight
7. Outpatients (and all admissions teams) - come and see the dedication to cancelling, rebooking, informing & understanding the needs of patients across Dorset. Share the pain they feel when they can’t get everyone in immediately; they’re superheroes
8. Chaplaincy Team - spend a day with our wonderful colleagues, who help us through the pain of losing our own loved ones, as well as being a source of comfort and peace to our patients
9. Occupational Health - spend a day listening to the experiences of staff, listen to the unimaginable struggles they face personally and how traumatic this year has been for many
10. Therapy Services - witness the magic of therapies, a huge part of the patient journey from admission to home - see how they look after each other through the most trying times and how they rise to every occasion
There are many teams you could spend some time with (porters, theatres, catering & more!) - we’d welcome you with open arms and treat you like we would our friends and family because that’s what #NHS family do!
