there's this idea that permeates the history of socialist writers and lives to this day, that "if you don't work, you don't eat. if you refuse to labor, don't expect anything back from The Workers"

and honestly its really sick. we deserve better.
first off, in a socialist society, characterized by labor being directly social, property held in common, and the labor put into objects no longer wielded as the value of these objects, there are no more "workers". the class has abolished itself.
secondly, labor is made *for* society, and *for* consumption. society is made up of all of its inhabitants (and we should really mean all here) and just as the machines that we use need fuel, so do the inhabitants.

to deny basic consumption of necessities is wicked.
we will all labor, because we, everyday, already labor! jobs or not! we labor on the world around us (even if only a small small part) and, within a cooperative society, this labor would be for society, utilized by society, or consumed.
who would be watching to ensure that all people are working? who would decide what jobs should be worked? what's the work to consumption ratio necessary? do these "socialists" really expect everyone to sit around doing nothing?
these are stupid questions, based on a misunderstood ideal of socialism.

labor will exist. jobs will not. consumption will exist. buying will not. cooperation will exist. worker-cooperatives will not. organization will exist. the state will not!
