Jason Preston from Ohio is a player that should be on NBA Draft big boards soon. Put up 31 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds on 13-23 from the field, and 3-4 from 3 in a game against a great Illinois team where he looked like the best player on the court.
He's already a master of working as the PG in pick-and-rolls with the patience that he shows, has great change of speed moves, can light it up from deep, and has great touch from around the rim.
I think this clip does a great job of showing his excellence in pick-and-rolls. Just watch how he's able to bait the defensive big in to get the roll man open before throwing up a pretty lob pass.
Or this play where Preston moves towards the left to capture the attention of the defensive big playing coverage and then swings an over the head pass to the pop man that's wide open.
Just watch how Preston uses a stop and go move to get the Illinois defender off his hip on the drive to the rim. Just absolute beauty.
Watch here as Preston moves off-ball, curls around a screen, retrieves the pass, and puts up a floater. That touch!
