That N200 million Dangote sent to Bala Usman of then BBOG "movement" is most likely the tip of the iceberg of the funding channeled towards the group.
APC thoroughly understands how to bring down a government, which is why #EndSARS scared them big time.

The see it as synonymous with the BBOG movement they funded and used to get into power.
When they (the Buhari regime) said #EndSARS was about regime change, they actually believe it.

My igbo people say a head hunter does not like to see a cutlass...
Back to BBOG.

The incident that drove BBOG was orchestrated, if we are honest with ourselves.

FG had instructed all schools in that part of Borno to be closed but the state governor told them to keep that Chibok school open.

The rest is history.
Without the Chibok girls incident, Buhari would never have gotten into power.

That incident and the BBOG campaign that pushed it was what took GEJ out.

GEJ was extremely naive in underestimating the level Northern power blocks would go to see he leaves Asorock.
When Buhari got into power, what happened to BBOG?

They simply retired the tool.

The Buhari regime then paid BH some millions of Naira to return some of the Chibok girls (who they flew to Abuja for photo ops).
I remember telling many of my friends here in the UK back then to think the whole thing through.

Unfortunately, the emotional commitment to BBOG could not allow folks think properly.

No one wanted to believe a people could facilitate mass kidnap of their own people...
But here we are, six years or so down the line, and things we all knew to be true are all slowly coming out.

Many people got played big time and have been left high and dry while those in the inner (APC & BBOG circle) are enjoying the power they cunningly acquired.
You might say this is crying over spilled milk.

No it is not.

It simply a history lesson on the politics of power leveraging/creating incidents and using pseudo popular movements to drive acquisition of power.

Many lessons to be learned, if you choose to learn...
