It is finally done. @JenniferBrunner flipped an Ohio Supreme Court seat, in one of the few bright spots for OH Dems this cycle. Brunner's support was widespread, even in heavily R rural areas. Congressional district wise, the map backfired and she carried FOURTEEN out of 16 CDs.
A sign of Brunner's Appalachian strength, the southeastern Ohio-based OH-06 was the bluest R-held CD in this race, clocking in at 54.4%. Brunner also flipped CDs 1, 2, 5, 7, 10, 12, 14, 15 and 16. She lost OH-08 by 7 and came within 3.5 points of flipping Jim Jordan's OH-04.
This result is the exception rather than the rule for Ohio Democratic victories. Even Sherrod Brown, in his 7-point win, did not post anywhere near this amount of rural strength. The non-partisan nature of the race definitely helped Brunner. Still, incredible result.
