The alternative they’re giving us, to ONLY be able to get official merch, SUCKS. I’m not gonna sugarcoat this—every time WP creates something Warriors-related it doesn’t seem like their designers understand basic principles of design. (I’m perpetually confused about their Insta?)
Awkward-looking Instas are harmless, but this problem is ALSO present in the design of their character merch. (Thanks to BrightGuardianAkira for the images) The minis are the only products that are passable but for the amount they’re charging, it needs to be MORE than passable.
I understand they own the property and need to run a business here. Legally, they can argue their way through court that they have the right to take down fanmade merch. But as a replacement they NEED to produce merch that can COMPETE with the quality and artistry of fanmade merch
AND THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY NOT EVEN C L O S E TO DOING THAT
Maybe I’m just too deep in the sauce and my opinion is too informed by my own professional expertise and experiences but I feel like, given the choice, the average consumer will still absolutely choose fanmade designs over the official ones most of the time ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯
And I would understand more if this was solely a sweep on fanmade plushies, figurines, etc. Products that compete directly with their new line of merch. But NO, they’re coming after character designs, prints, posters, stickers...

This isn’t even a “I personally don’t like the way the official merch looks but I can see why others do” situation. I legitimately do not think WP is selling quality products and there have been SO many issues with design and production. As a fan, it’s frustrating to watch.
And for them to strike down on fan creators and LOCKING the fanbase, their consumers, into ONLY being able to buy their products, which at the moment are frankly subpar in comparison, feels kind of gross and totally against the spirit of community and creativity of this fandom
anyway tldr buy your sexy Ivypool stickers before it’s too late thanksssssss
