Here’s my guess on the Bears Cap situation, currently they’ll enter the season with the 21st most cap ($2.3M) & their entire elite D signed through 2021 ex SS position. On O I think there is ~ 6 starters we know will be there Daniels, Cody, Mooney, Kmet, Miller, Monty...now what
1st I don’t think they cut Leno because the cap relief isn’t enough to justify, I think Massie is gone saving ~7M in space, also expect graham to be gone & let’s say he has offsets in contract w/o it saves 7M, w it saves 10M. So two cuts and bears are at 20M in funds...
So assuming Leno back the line is Leno-Cody-Daniels-??-?? (Bars/Mustipher), they can easily resign Allen Robinson w $ they have & first year hit could be structured to take up maybe only 7 of the 20M they created. Additional fuller contract is a 20M hit, extend him bring to 9M
So now you’re well over 20M and easily can restructure others as wanted to get to 30M. Having 30M and 1st 3 picks in draft w Arob back and entire elite defense returning puts bears in a great position to aggressively upgrade the offense. They’re in a fine spot
