2/8 The biggest "wow" factor is the role @ln_strike plays in the transaction. It lets you buy things with bitcoin, but you don't need to own or use any bitcoin yourself. Strike acts as translator, converting USD into bitcoin which is accepted by the merchant ( @bitrefill etc.)
3/8 This combo means a merchant can accept (or even REQUIRE) Bitcoin as payment, even if the customer doesn't have any. All the customer needs is the @ln_strike app, connected to their checking account. Lowers barriers in a big way.
4/8 Here's what it looks like on the @ln_strike side. You deposit $ from your normal checking account. You then get Bitcoin-invoiced from the merchant (either Bitcoin or Lightning) which you then pay. (Note the $ fee slippage, which for now is more than offset by the $ cashback.)
5/8 Here's what it looks like on the merchant side ( @bitrefill) you shop, checkout, and get a standard QR code to pay in Bitcoin or Lightning. Scan this QR code with @ln_strike, and bam - invoice paid, and satsback earned at BitRefill!
6/8 This solves a major problem for merchants trying to get customers to pay them in Bitcoin - which, let's face it, is an uphill climb at best. Very few shoppers have Bitcoin, and of the ones who do? Most don't want to spend it. No longer a problem. They can use @ln_strike and $
7/8 I was slow to understand the value proposition of @ln_strike until I used it myself, just now. We need to help @JackMallers tell this story, and better explain what problems it solves, and for who. Because this is a powerful step along the path to a Bitcoin circular economy.
8/8 Anyway, give @ln_strike a serious look. Load it up with some dirty fiat, go shopping this Black Friday at @bitrefill or any other place that accepts Bitcoin or Lightning Network payments!
