Just a reminder that the main comedians who call people too sensitive lose their shit when you suggest their special wasn’t funny. https://twitter.com/michellehux/status/1332390258973966337
“It’s just an opinion! You gonna let words hurt you like a lil BITCH?!”
“Eh. Okay. My opinion is that it’s harmful and unfunny.”
“How could you say that? I am just a hardworking baby. Please use nice, gentle words or I will die from your meanness.”

I’ve been a Dave Chappelle fan for decades. He took Chappelle’s show off the air because he knows the difference between being laughed with and laughed at. He then turns around and BECOMES the white guy laughing too hard at the nigga jokes on the CS set, but toward trans women.
It’s not irony. It’s hypocrisy. A man laughed at a joke HE told, staring down the barrel of a $50M payday, and it fucked him up so bad he went to Africa.
Trans women are fighting for their lives and his response was “my trans woman comedian friend said it was okay.”

I can wrap my mind around Chappelle’s shir because he’s been a titan for years and whether you like him or not, he has decades of solid work for you to dislike and he talks about bombing and everything else. All comedians do it. He knows he’s still getting his money.
Kevin Hart on the other hand, is a hard working man. But he’s acting like this is the first time someone has said he isn’t funny and that...can’t be.
I don’t get into comedy discussions as much on here anymore because I’m not fighting with anyone over what I’m laughing at. But I’ve watched enough to Chappelle to know that he is full of shit. I’ve bypassed enough Kevin hart to know that nobody has the guts to redirect him.
These mean men who like to provoke are sensitive. I know that people who like to tell hella jokes are sensitive. I AM ONE OF THEM. The sensitivity is why you find hilarity is absurd, sometimes hurtful situations.
Anyway, read this. It’s fantastic and gets right to the meat of it. https://level.medium.com/the-hypocrisy-of-dave-chappelles-power-play-6c8f0b269dcd
