Just my opinion/thoughts on Henry Ruggs coming out:
Ruggs is a SPEED GUY. Not just speed but he was taken at 12 before any other receiver b/c of his ELITE speed. Now.. I had him at WR6 and people thought I was crazy. But let me explain

Ruggs has 2 bug time traits
1. Speed
2. Toughness. He’s tough af
When you are that speed guy and that’s your BEST trait..you have to learn how to use that as a threat on a down to down basis. So even if he’s running a slant or stop route give the elision of a vertical threat

Ruggs did not do that. When he played against GOOD corners in the SEC.. when you watch the film.. he was not using the threat of his speed consistently. From press corners in the SEC were way too comfortable. No way that should be playing dick to hip on 4.2 speed.
But they were. Now at any moment he can have a big play but I didn’t believe it was a consistent part of his game. So ultimately.. you think you are getting Tyreek Hill but really.. even Hill didn’t come into the league as Hill.
It’s a tough transition for some of these speed guys when that’s your main trait because now corners are better.. everyone is athletic.. how else are you going to win? So I figured Ruggs would struggle until he learned to consistently use his speed as a threat.. now..
The issue with that is.. sometimes guys don’t. Lol .. Right now Raiders are using him like he’s Marquise Goodwin. Is that a 12th overall pick first receiver off the board? I don’t think so. And Raiders have to HOPE he learns to use the threat of his speed more consistently
If he doesn’t, he’ll be more of what we see now. A big play here b there cuz he’s tough.. he can make contested catches.. he can spring one.. but can he give you what Nelson Agholor has? Just that level of consistency... it’s a big question mark.
Take Jerry Jeudy for example. Jeudy isn’t as tough but we knew one thing.. he’s a big time separator with routes. That’s consistent. And .. I said this even pre draft.. Jeudy played FASTER. Every play DB’s felt his speed. Not saying he’s faster with the ball. But the speed of..
The speed of his routes on every play.. you felt that.. you could see it. Ruggs will have to learn that.
Again.. just my opinion.. but that’s why I had him at wr6 and if I were braver he would have been lower than that. But too much upside

Last thing.. this is why I don’t watch highlights. They lie. And when I do threads I don’t cherry pick plays. My threads on prospects are like 20 clips from 1 game. Highlights lie.
