Ideal socialist villages have appeared in the Komdok area of South Hamgyong Province, DPRK, promising the bright future of the mining city.

Just a short couple months ago, the Komdok area was under muddy waters and stones due to the successive natural disasters.
The aftermath of the disaster was so severe that houses there couldn't be recognized even by their owners.

Now, modern houses are everywhere to present spectacular scenery.
Single-, low- and multi-storeyed dwelling houses for 2,300 households, public buildings, and many parks and cultural establishments have been successfully built to turn misfortune into blessings for all the families in the area.
The big change in the area is the bright fruition brought about by the loving care and dedication of Leader Kim Jong Un for the workers, the eldest sons and daughters of the country.
The sea of changes brought to the Komdok area are also a valuable achievement produced by the fighting spirit and stamina of the People's Army clearing the worries of the Party and the pains of the people with loyal and patriotic devotion.
Meetings for moving to new houses in the mining villages were held, and amid dancing and laughter, people began to move to their new homes which have been beautifully built in the damaged areas where now no trace of the disasters can be found.
The working people with new homes free of charge vowed to glorify the 80-day campaign with increased mineral extraction and greet the 8th Congress of the WPK with pride, cherishing in their minds the benevolence of the mother Party that provided them with places for happy living.
The sudden transformation of the Komdok area from a disaster-stricken one of lamenting people into a modern and happy place to live is just one of the many new stories of deep love of the socialist system where the working people are masters and their interests are most sacred.
