Latest diversity fiasco aside, there’s a larger point I want to drive home with tech execs across the Valley:

You don’t get to play the role of revered leader while perpetuating, dismissing, or acting blind to harm and discrimination at your own company or the industry at large. https://twitter.com/operaqueenie/status/1332007385850789888
There’s so much talk in this industry about innovating and being cutting-edge.

If you can only do it through the marginalization and exploitation of other people... I’m sorry, but that doesn’t seem very innovative to me.

It seems very fucking basic. I’m not impressed.
The relentless pursuit of a mission alone (namely, market domination and profits) does not make you special.

Don’t conflate your “talents” with the wind of white supremacy and patriarchy at your back.
Tech is supposed to be improving the quality of life for people, but this industry doesn’t know shit about people.
The people we revere as “gods” today in Silicon Valley are gonna start looking like dinosaurs. They will be irrelevant.

There is a new kind of leader, a new kind of business, and a new kind of economy that is about to rise up.
And as the obsolescent leaders navel gaze and dismiss the matters of people as unimportant, the rest of us will have figured out how to tap into the collective power of *us* to solve the world’s problems.
