Assadi had used his diplomatic immunity to transfer the TATP bomb in his handbag from Tehran to Vienna on Austrian Airlines flight OS872. The airliner cancelled flights to many Iranian cities afterwards.

Assadi was being closely monitored by the Austrian counter-terrorism units. When Assadi departed Austrian Airlines flight OS872, the units sent “code 43” on the border control computer ordering the agent to allow Assadi to pass through inspections.

More importantly, the driver’s license used to rent the car was under “Mohammad Reza Zaeri,” cleric on the right.
