Want to know how the Iranians think about these assassinations? Ep 3 of the @irandealpodcast has audio of Ali Salehi, head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, discussing their impact with journalist Richard Stone. (1/3) https://www.middlebury.edu/office/deal-podcast
At one point Stone asks Salehi about some pictures on the wall -- Salehi explains they are pictures of assassinated scientists. Stone asks whether the killings deterred students from joining thee nuclear program? Salehi says the opposite -- that it "It inspired them." (2/3)
The episode, produced by @mitchell_johnso, is one of my favorites, in part because of how it weaves together the motives for pursuing nuclear technology and nuclear weapons, as well as the motives for finding a diplomatic solution. (3/3)
PS: Ep 4 of the @irandealpodcast also has an account of @aaron_m_arnold's visit to #mossad HQ.
" I thought it was just absolutely amazing that as a former intelligence analyst that I would be going into Mossad headquarters. You know, that doesn’t happen!" https://www.middlebury.edu/office/deal-podcast
