A thread about Fifi (stardewleaf’s) history of racism in the animal crossing community.
For those who aren’t familiar with what has been going on for the past few days, a user who goes by ‘Fifi’ posted a picture of her Animal Crossing character using afro puffs- a hairstyle most commonly worn by black people, as an afro is 3c-4c hair.

She posted the picture with the caption “Cute space buns :3”, harmless right? No. Animal crossing players have previously petitioned for Nintendo to add more inclusive hairstyles and skin tones for Black, Indigenous and people of color.
Her post was seen as innocent & friendly, however we believe there is way more to it. Recently, Fifi shared her Instagram handle. She posted her account as @sunfloraisland, and then quickly changed it to @stardewleaf. Sunflora Island is a familiar name to us, let me explain…
Back in August, there was a racist incident that took place in the Animal Crossing community. It started with someone calling a serial killer sexy, there is no need to get into the details of it. The same person was also exposed using the n-slur in their tweets.
An anonymous user referred to this person as a “cracker”. This resulted in a user by the name “Edie” entering the conversation and saying this:
Many people then called Edie out for saying the n-slur as white person. Edie proceeded to go private and change her username and layout. She tried to defend herself by claiming her ex hacked into her account to make that post.

While being called out, Edie changed her handle many times. At her worst, she included the n-slur in her handle to try to prove a invalid point.
Edie then had her account reported, & to avoid being banned, she deactivated herself. When she reactivated, she came back with a new handle and layout. She responded to a callout post about her like this (1st image) and responded to other people talking about her with this (2nd)
She also harassed people on Curiouscat, and referred to a user on Curiouscat with the n-slur and wished for them to be raped.
At the end of Melanie’s thread, they warn that Edie claimed they already created an alt account that people are interacting with. (the day after she first posted on stardewleaf).
Why is this all important you ask? Well, Fifi posted her actual Instagram account today when someone else was supposedly pretending to be her. This is very important because the connection between both accounts is that their island name is Sunflora.
That’s not a coincidence if you’d ask me. While Sunflora is the name of a Pokemon, it is an obscure one not many people pay mind to.
When you scroll through her Instagram, you can see pictures of her character. Some screenshots of her character are shown with two braids and hearts on her face.
Edie’s character is also shown with the same hairstyle and same face paint as Fifi.
Melanie created her thread on September 5th. Coincidentally, Fifi also created her new account in September, her first original tweet being made September 5th. She also spam retweeted many people’s posts at the start of her account.
Melanie’s thread also shows how Edie claims she is AT LEAST 25 years old. Fifi? She’s 29 years old.
So what is the point of all this? Many of stardewleaf’s supporters believe that she was completely innocent and had good intentions when she posted her pic of “space buns”. However, this shows that Fifi had a history of being racist and using slurs in the Animal Crossing-
community and stardewleaf was created to evade this past. Her “space buns” picture was intentionally posted to anger black people and allies and create this outrage.
The fact that she has garnered so many racist and alt-right supporters, many of whom do not even care about Animal Crossing, reflects her exact views, beliefs and intentions.
It’s up to you to decide who you want to support, but we’ve discussed this with many people before posting and we don’t think this is a reach. Everything I’ve posted is enough to prove that what we’re saying is undoubtedly true.
You should be ashamed of yourself if you’ve defended her.
If you are here to continue defending a well-known racist, ableist and a downright bigot. Rethink what you're about to stand for. This behavior is unacceptable in any community & speaking for everyone who’s in the ACNH Twitter community, @stardewleaf get out.
