Tim Keller is a star in the PCA, a denomination that doesn't ordain women, but I've seen few men who honor, cherish and publicly promote his wife as well as he does.
Although both would likely deny it I sometimes suspect he opposes women serving in church office because SHE says so.
This sort of double inversion twists up our direct rationalism and can afford insight into the mysterious ways human beings line up on different sides of inevitable tribal conflicts.
Tribal conflicts inevitably come, but part of the power of wisdom is to recognize but not absolutize such conflicts. It is this wisdom that we must maintain if we want to navigate a world fueled by social media roided divisions.
