Credit where credit's due, dropping multiple volumes of new sponsor guidance on us on a Friday afternoon for two weeks running is absolutely top-drawer trolling by UKVI. Shall we look at some together? [Thread]
Today sees publication of a further seven (7) (no seriously, 7) volumes of guidance. This covers temporary routes like seasonal workers and international agreements, as well as long-term routes for ministers of religion and sportspeople [2/]
There's nothing in those routes that is inherently new as they're part of our current Points Based System. The new system launching on 1 December will see all these move to a different home in the Appendices, like many other categories already [3/]
Just a note: all of these new sponsor licence documents essentially start in the same way, with an explanation of how EU nationals are incorporated into the PBS from 01 January. It's a lot of repetition and very much has big beefing-up-my-word-count-on-a-uni-project energy [4/]
I'll not go into the individual routes today; they're specific & may involve international agreements or government authorised exchanges. If you need to discuss your options for employing migrant workers from 01 Dec then contact us for a no obligation chat: 0161 234 6800 [5/]
Seasonal Worker guidance is interesting because this route, while not brand new, will be more important after free movement to UK from the EU stops. This guidance also includes the phrase "top fruit", which is excellent. What's your top fruit? Mine's raspberries; delicious [6/]
Creative Worker another category potentially with growing importance in post-Brexit UK. Arts and culture have seen such a battering this Covid year, it's a concern to think about the impact of curbs on EU movement to the UK even on a temporary basis. [7]
Over the next few weeks we'll be looking at some of these routes in more detail, and also how the visit rules might help to keep wheels turning where sponsorship is too cumbersome for consideration. Stay tuned to our blog for updates! [END]
