So when I started crocheting, my then nsukka roommates always taunted me, they gave me this nickname ā€˜aji buusu’ which means masquerade, they will wear my outfits and dance around making mockery of me.
Never knew I could come this far or even own a brand. #DoYou
After I did my first photo shootšŸ‘‡, it was sealed that I was going to start a brand, I started advertising with WhatsApp telling everyone I knew to tell everyone they knew.
Never underestimate the power of people’s one on one connection on social media.
Then I opened an Instagram page kept on referring people, also started using Twitter to advertise, wasn’t easy at any point, sometimes people would hail ā€˜CEO CEO’ But na 1k Dey your account.
It gets better eventually. #DoYou so that motivation to continue will always push you on
My name is Ore Akinde and I’m a crochet designer, CEO of the brand OrĆ©Akinde. I have more than 35 designs. I have sold more than 5000 outfits to different customers over the space of 3 years.
Don’t be afraid to take that first leap.
Always #DoYou the rest will fall in place.
